DAY 12. Gallup, NM to Grants, NM

TRY BIKING 65 miles into a 30+ mph head wind!  We've been able to ride 18-20 mph most days.  Today we were only able to average 13-14mph.  Tough cycling.

We crossed the Continental Divide at 7,200 feet.  This was really a non event, the only notation was a small sign and a covered wagon showing "Continental Divide elevation 7,200 feet".

Michelle was able to ride the 40 miles from the SAG to the Hotel.  I'm hopeful for a remarkable recovery so she can continue on this epic journey to Boston.

Interesting fact:  both Arizona and New Mexico are in Mountain Time zone but we didn't turn our clocks ahead until we reached N.M.  The reason.....Arizona doesn't recognize Daylight Savings Time.

Thanks to everyone who has left such kind and encouraging messages.

Best,

M&M
